Rachel and her restraints...

Here's Rachel with her arm restraints on. She's doing extremely well with these things on. Much better than I had anticipated. We can take them off when we're holding her or watching her closely. Last surgery, she was still too small for normal restraints, so we had IV boards that we strapped to her arms and wrapped gauze around to keep in place. These restraints have velcro and are easy on/easy off.

I find it amazing that they don't make smaller restraints. There must be lots of newborns who would use them, wouldn't you think?

Considering Rachel was 10 weeks old for her first surgery, and she wasn't exactly what you would call small for her age (she was already 13lbs!), we were surprised the restraints didn't fit then. You would think they'd make something a little smaller...at least to fit the above average size babies...as was Rachel was! LOL
