A Step in the Right Direction
I received a note in Rachel's cubby at school yesterday from the school speech therapist. She was requesting permission to screen Rachel for possible speech therapy! It's a step in the right direction and I didn't even have to make inquires about my request yet!! Most definitely a step in the right direction!

Love those kind of steps, the ones in the right direction. :)
Hooray! That is wonderful news. Glad to hear it. :o)
Such exciting news! The speech therapist Adalynn has been working with (once every 3 months through Early Intervention) wants to dismiss her. That scares me to death. Has Rachel received any services prior to this?
Rachel had speech therapy once a week for over a year through our medical center where her cranio team is located. She had speech therapy when she was very young - 18 months old. She had a problem with a lot of the sounds coming from the back of her throat, what they call 'glottal' sounds. She was dismissed at that time because she was on track for her age at the time.
Now we're seeking speech therapy to help clean up and aid in some articulation areas. She has a sever underbite and also places her tongue in the wrong area of the roof of her mouth for some words.
